Chef Lance Morishima found his culinary passion at a young age while growing up on the island of Oahu. His parents are first-generation Japanese Nationals which exposed him to a traditional Japanese upbringing. A sashimi teishoku dinner was very common in his household. As he grew and started to venture out on his own, this is where he was exposed to his first real tastes of Local cuisine.
At the age of 17, he started his career as a line cook. His childhood passion with martial arts & swords transferred to the kitchen and his fascination of chefs' knives. Through knives and his love for food, his culinary career started to take shape. Chef Morishima worked his way up through the ranks and got his first Kitchen Management position at the young age of 22 years old. Since then, Chef Morishima has run some of the most iconic Japanese Menu’s on the Island and received the 2017 Hale Aina Award for best overall Japanese cuisine while at the helm of Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar followed by Rokkaku Hamakatsu.
When presented with the position to open The Clubhouse Mililani, he saw it as an opportunity to marry the two cuisines that he loves so much. The Clubhouse menu will be heavily influenced by traditional Japanese Cuisine, featuring exotic fish imported from Japan as well as the 'ono local grinds that he grew to love.
We have worked to package our meals in a way that lets you bring the quality of our meals into your home. We always love to see you in person, but even when we can't we ensure that your dining experience is top notch!
